Manastash: Prairie Eights

Manastash: Prairie Eights

It’s been a funky winter in the PNW, but with a historic storm cycle in late January and some consistently cold days, the snow line dropped way down into the foothills. Suddenly there was legitimately fun skiing at ridiculously low elevations and Manastash Ridge just outside of Ellensburg was transformed into a playground for after work laps and weekends of stacking prairie eights on the short mini-golf laps.

Without knowing how long the turns would last, I made it out almost every day for two weeks straight and quickly found the locals ski community making the most of the rare conditions.
